WRO® Robot Virtual Games®

WELCOME TO THE BEST VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD!

Robot Virtual Games® is pleased to announce that due to the success of our last year event the WRO international committee has decided to enable our tournament again in the 2022 season.

The competition uses the Virtual Robotics Toolkit® simulator and is hosted on the new e-Sports platform www.robotvirtualgames.com (RVG) – developed by the WRO® National Organizer in Panama, FUNDESTEAM.

Participants up to the age of 19 are invited and will be able to compete. It is not a requirement that participants have been previously participating in WRO®. Anyone can join. This way we hope to inspire many new WRO® teams!

This year we will have national tournaments, which will be held by the National Organizer of each country.

Here you can find general information about the tournament, but for more information it is important that you contact your National Organizer.

If you don't know how to contact them you can write to us at [email protected] and we will help you.

FORMAT OF THE COMPETITION

There will be three newly designed VRT Mat Challenges.

On each WRO Age Group, there will be two challenges with the same Mat. One will be a Beginners Challenge and another will be an Advanced Challenge. The Advanced Challenge will be more complex and the teams can import their own robot.

You can only participate in one of the two challenges per Age Group. That means that you must choose between Beginners Challenge and Advanced Challenge.

There are numerous applications of robots at home and in the daily household. One example is robots that can perform various tasks in our garden. There are robots that clean pools, sow plants, or water flowers. On the Elementary game field, the robot takes on the task of cutting the grass and collecting bad weeds. At the same time, the robot has to watch out for ladybugs that are on the robot´s path and bring them to safety.

A rescue robot supports rescuers in an emergency situation with dangerous or difficult tasks. Such robots must be able to withstand heat, overcome debris or stairs, detect injured persons, transport hazardous materials, and create situational pictures of unknown environments. The junior game field deals with some of these tasks.

On this playing field, the robot´s tasks are to assist and extinguish a fire in a factory, to transport hazardous chemicals, and to provide the rescue services with information about the position of people in the factory. At the same time, the robot has to overcome unknown terrain on its way to the factory

On the Senior playing field, the robot takes on the role of a care and transport robot in a hospital. It is supposed to take laundry to the hospital´s own laundry shop, bring water to diffent rooms, and play with the patients. At the same time, the robot has to pay attention to the nurses and visitors as it makes its way through the hospital corridors.
